Comments: Rode with Sean & CJ. Roley and I got to Welch about 2pm after doing a pre-Welch King's run. Rode for over an hour then CJ met up with us. He promised to go to Colorado next week. It is fun not having a job!

Roley: 2nd time at Welch! I'm feelin it. 6 days to Wapner. Jeff had a good Xmas. Now trip is foursome. Good deal. Me go to edges to suck up loose piles wasted by meat gates. I love weekday riding even during Xmas time!

CJ: New snow at Welch was good times. Lots of people though. If I go to CO it well be awesome.

Thursday December 27th, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Thursday December 27th, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 30 degrees hard pack and a little icy

Vertical feet & runs: 3,580 feet 11 runs

Season Total: 50,990 feet 100 runs

Comments: Rode with Sean. We are prepping for Colorado. Welch was crazy busy again today but it was still fun. It was 25 minute wait for food at Mad Jaxx and Bonnie put the smack down over the intercom on some disrespectful bitches. It was my first day on my straps and SL9s. First hour can you say OUCH! But I figured it out and continued the day.

Sean: I come from a land called Awesome.

Saturday December 29th, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Saturday December 29th, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 24 degrees hard pack with a lil sluff and a lil ice

Vertical feet & runs: 4,660 feet 14 runs

Season Total: 55,650 feet 114 runs

Comments: Rode with Glen, CJ, and Greg*. Welch was insanely busy again. We did some Chicken steeps off-piste in prep for Colorado. Glen ripped. CJ was a little suspect. CJ ripped when I followed him down the steeps. I guess he will have to pay me to follow him in Colorado so he doesn't die. Pete's Pike was my favorite run of the day. Bonnie gave us Mad Croc hats and we drank Mad Croc. Total Red Bull rip-off. *Greg skied today. Yes I said skied. I told him that could get him put up for eviction from the BFGSC. Then he said it was for a girl and then I told him that is even worse and it could now be immediate eviction. Then he said it was for the kids and I said I would forgive him this one time.

CJ: Greg's a SKIER!

Glen: I tore it up today! I can't wait to hit Summit County on Wednesday. Had a blast today with Matt & CJ, although CJ was looking rough. I'll see you Mr.Journal on Wednesday! Blue Balls?

Shooshbag Greg: Skiing with Kris, Sierra, Jade. I hate snow plowing (hurts my gluticus maximus) Happy New Year!

Sunday December 30th, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Sunday December 30th, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 19 degrees nice hard pack

Vertical feet & runs: 5,290 feet 16 runs

Season Total: 60,940 feet 130 runs

Comments: Rode with Pope, Josh, Mike (Josh's friend), Jack, Finney, Chad, and Mike G. The group looked bad ass all together on the hill. I liked to go first so I didn't look crappy following all the other awesome riders. Pope got big air! Some kids were oogling Josh's board. I rode Jack's Supermodel! Damn I forgot my camera, sorry no photos today.

Pope: First time out and good times, except I kept on falling into Matt off the lifts. I did get big air, like 2 inches or so and I fell. Rode over 10 different runs overall.

Findog: The old crew back 18 years back. Open this hill as a garbage dump during the summer for more vert! Thanks for the invite.

Jack: Yea! Playtime is good! Hanging with the crew is great times!

Wednesday January 2nd, 2008 Beaver Creek

Date & Location: Wednesday January 2nd, 2008 Beaver Creek

Weather & Snow: 22 degrees fun snow

Vertical feet & runs: 11,300 feet 6 runs

Season Total: 72,240 feet 136 runs

Comments: Rode with Glen, CJ, and Sean. My first day in Summit County. It was super fun! Sean and I had a picnic on the ridge with Prince. Then we found some pow pow after a small hike. They were fun trees but both Sean and I became snowpeople at one point. Did you know rich people are better looking? (actual quote from a shooshbag skier).

CJ: How come there are no Wendy's between Des Moines and Lincoln? Oh well. The drive was fun and the riding was more fun. I wish we would have found our last run of the day earlier. It was cool. Riding in cool places with cool people is cool!

Glen: I found the only damn ice patch at Beaver Creek, ouch! I still had a blast today even if the mountain made me feel 37 after a day of riding. Vail, I'll see you manana.

Roley: Heard old jackass tell his buddy that "rich people are better looking than everyone else". Unprepared for impromptu Prince picnic to poach some powder. Matt really doesn't have much of a future in action photography or being a professional at not drinking Sambuca shots or not overshooting a sit up in powder to dive in head first. Beaver Creek came through for the powder stashes. I hate smoke detectors with low battery level.

Thursday January 3rd, 2008 Vail

Date & Location: Thursday January 3rd, 2008 Vail

Snow & Weather: 32 degrees packed pow blue bird day

Vertical feet & runs: 14,410 feet 9 runs

Season Total: 86,650 feet 145 runs

Comments: Rode with CJ, Glen, and Sean. Vail=HUGE! We did back bowls all day and rode hard. Lots of bumps. We did a hike and found some fresh pow turns. It wasn't that far of a hike but it was challenging at 12,550 feet (give me air). It was totally worth it as got our 15 "Glory turns" of the trip. My favorite run was Champagne Glades. CJ gets a Gold Medal he rode awesome and kept up with Sean and I. Last run of the day was 3,000 feet summit to base leg burner. Awesome way to end the day!

Glen: I had an OK day. I rode about 7k vertical today but I got my groove back cruising Northwoods. My legs feel much better after going easy today combined with skipping the cold tub.

Roley: I hurt.

CJ: The back bowls and Moonlight Basin (I mean Blue Sky Basin) are lots of fun. I rode good today and got some powder.

Friday January 4th, 2008 Copper Mountain

Date & Location: Friday January 4th, 2008 Copper Mountain

Snow & Weather: 32 degrees 2-4" of new fluff

Vertical feet & runs: 16,030 feet 9 runs

Season Total: 102,680 feet 154 runs

Comments: Rode with Sean, Glen, and CJ. I love Copper Mountain. It was my favorite of the three days in Colorado. We rode hard today. Did some fluffy bumps top to bottom. I wrenched my knee (surgery knee) and it made it feel better in the short term. But it now hurts in the end of the day. CJ made friends with a tree. I got Sean to do one more run after he was positive it was his last but I introduced him to a great tree run. Glen rode way awesomer today than yesterday! Me like Copper Mountain. I did my best performance run ever on a board today! Sorry about the last photo I guess you go a little crazy from being in altitude for a while and drinking too may beers.

CJ: Copper was sweet just like I remembered it! I hurt today, though. Need to get in shape for 6 days of riding in Montana! These guys rock! In your face!

Glen: You do what you gotta do and then you do it!

Roley: Fought through the pain and had the best of 3 days. Copper Mountain is by far my favorite Colorado mountain. 3" fell on us. Found fluffy powder in cool tree runs. Go figure I'm not as sore after final day. I don't want to spend $50 extra on Julesberg Motel so I will not clean any birds in room. Especially not in your FACE!!! It is also fortunate I don't have a motorcycle to wipe down with these towels.
